My name is Catherine Foley and I am an experienced freelance proofreader based in Nottingham.
I’ve worked in publishing, print and design for more than thirty years. My first job as a proofreader was for the legal department of a government body in Dublin, after which I worked as an arts editorial assistant for a national Sunday newspaper.
I moved to Nottingham in the 1980s and trained as a typesetter at a large printers, ran a desktop publishing bureau for a reprographic house, and subsequently became a creative artworker for a graphic design agency. In the early 1990s, I began working on a freelance basis as both an artworker and proofreader for printers and design agencies in Nottingham, as well as for clients such as Nottingham City Council, Boots, 3M Healthcare, and Capital One Bank.
I am a BPIF Certified Typesetter, have a BTEC in Art & Design, and a BA in History & Humanities.
